Subject :-

E-Filing of Half Yearly Service Tax Returns (ST-3)



            Attention of the Trade is invited to the Notification No. 43/2011–Service Tax issued by the Director (Service Tax), Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, New Delhi under F.No. 137/99/2011 – Service Tax dated 25^th August 2011.

2.         In pursuance of the said Notification, the E-filing of Service Tax Returns(ST-3) has been made mandatory for all the Assessees of Service Tax.

3.         In view of the above, every Service Tax Assessee should file the ST-3 returns electronically and no manual ST-3 returns will be accepted with effect from 1^st October 2011.

4.        It is also brought to the Notice of trade that Central Board of Excise and Customs(CBEC) has entered into MOU’s with Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India (ICWAI) and the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) for setting of ACES Certified Facilitation Centres (CFCs) by their Members. Assessees can also approach them for E-Filing of Service Tax Returns. The list of such CFC’s located within the jurisdiction of Nagpur Commissionerate is enclosed herewith as Annexure to this Trade Notice. For complete details regarding CFC’s, the website of ACES vig. www.aces.gov.in may be referred to.

5.         All Trade/Service Provider’s Association and members of R.A.C. and Public Grievance Committee are requested to bring the contents of this Trade Notice to the knowledge of all concerned.
